Privacy policy
Last updated: 25 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data SynVox Nova handles on this website and in the SynVox Nova app for Windows, why, and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible
SynVox Nova (“we”). Contact: synvoxnova@gmail.com.
This website
- You do not need an account to visit it, read the community or download the installer.
- If you sign in. We use a session cookie (
svx_web) that keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary for that service, so it does not ask for consent: page scripts cannot read it, it is only sent to our API and it expires after 30 days (12 hours for administrator accounts) or when you sign out. - Your browser keeps in its local storage your language choice, your cookie choice and a flag saying whether you are signed in (to show the right buttons). They never leave your device.
- The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and technical request data to deliver and protect the site.
Your account, the app and the website
- Sign-in with Google. In the app and on the website we receive your Google account ID, e-mail address and name. It is the same account in both places. We do not keep any access to your Google account.
- Account and subscription. Our server (Cloudflare Workers and D1) stores your Google account ID, e-mail, name, account creation date, last activity, app version, your plan and, if you subscribe, your Stripe customer ID and the status and dates of your subscription.
- Sessions. For each open session (in the app or in a browser) we only keep a hash of its token, whether it belongs to the app or the website, its dates and, on the website, a generic description of the browser (for example, “Chrome · Windows”) so you can recognise it in “My account” and sign it out.
- Payments. Card payments are made on Stripe’s own page. We never see or store your card details.
- Your voice and your text. The app sends your audio directly from your computer to ElevenLabs, and Voice Translate sends the text to DeepL, using your own API keys and your own accounts with them. Our servers never receive your audio, transcriptions or translations. ElevenLabs and DeepL process them under their own terms and privacy policies.
- API keys. Your ElevenLabs and DeepL keys are stored encrypted on your computer (Windows DPAPI) and are never sent to us.
- Data on your computer. Settings, presets and a small error log stay on your computer and are not sent to us.
- System-wide keyboard sound (optional, off by default). When you turn it on, the app only uses the type of key pressed (letter, space, Enter or large key) to play a sound. Which key you press is never stored or sent.
- Administration. Changes made by an administrator (an account’s access, signing out sessions, community posts) are logged with the date and who made them, for security.
Why we use this data
- To provide your account, your plan and your subscription in the app and on the website (performance of our contract with you).
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse, for example with request limits and the administration log (our legitimate interest).
- To measure our ads, only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Who processes it for us
- Cloudflare: website hosting, server and database.
- Google: sign-in and, with your consent, ad measurement.
- Stripe: payments and subscription management.
These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under their own safeguards for international transfers. ElevenLabs and DeepL are services you contract directly.
How long we keep it
- App and website sessions: up to 30 days (12 hours for administrator sessions), or until you sign them out.
- Request counters used against abuse, which include your IP address: up to 2 days.
- Account and subscription data: while your account exists. Ask us and we will delete it.
- Administration log (what each administrator changed and when): 12 months.
- Payment records: Stripe keeps them for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, object to or restrict its use, ask for a copy (portability) and withdraw your consent. Write to synvoxnova@gmail.com from the e-mail address of your account. You can also complain to the data protection authority of your country.
Children
SynVox Nova is not intended for people under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If the change is important, we will also tell you in the app and on the website.
